Assessment:
Students will be assessed throughout the course on the using the following stems and indicators.
Stems
Explores interests and skills in the design and approaches to challenges
Creates a product, performance or service in response to challenges
Appraises process, product and personal contribution in response to challenges
Communicates and demonstrates knowledge and skills in response to challenges
Indicators
4 – Excellent achievement of grade level expectations.
3 – Good achievement of grade level expectations.
2 – Basic achievement of grade level expectations.
1 – Not meeting grade level expectations.
Course Outline:
1. Unit 1: Form
a. Students will build a basic Lego Robot via direct instruction
2. Unit 2: Function
a. Students will run predetermined programming scripts via the Lego “Brick”
3. Unit 3: Programming
a. Students will begin programming with the Lego proprietary software connected via the computers to the “Brick”
i. Tasks will involve, one step commands, two step commands
4. Unit 4: Creation
a. Students will begin creating their own Robots and programming code
