Accommodations:
This class is one big accommodation for exceptional students, seeing as its computer based with all the accoutrements the internet has to offer. However, I would like to bring your attention to a few of the ways that you can make your own learning easier in my class.
Headphones:
I always have headphones to borrow in my class. If you need text to speech, feel free to come up and borrow a pair behind me in the cabinet. Return them at the end of class. One of the nice things about my class is that with the internet and youtube it doesn't look like you're using headphones to read, but to listen to music.
Text to Speech:
Windows Narrator: ctrl + windows key + enter
I find this is the easiest and quickest way to get some speech going on your computer. It's a quick key that turns it off and on, and you just select the part of you screen you want it to read. Easy and simple.
Google Docs: You can install and extension on google chrome called read and write gold. It will read anything in a web browser for you. Here is the link:

Extra Time:
Extra time is built into my program with one objective. So every student can achieve the highest level of learning possible. This takes one of two forms, either a student completes all assignments with time to spare and is expected to use the extra time using the tools and skills they have acquired throughout the course (or even years) to build and create innovate works of design. The other form is that students who wish to concentrate longer on a singular class project are able to do so without feeling rushed for time. Students are expected to put forth their best work in either scenario that fits their person.
Internet Tutorials:
It is no secret that my goal is to foster independence in my students by having them learn off of the internet. While my site is a great resource, it is just the tip of the iceberg. I expect and encourage students to find and follow tutorials off of the internet. I am a self taught computer person, and I believe the only skill that has any longevity on computers is the ability to self teach from a computer. Text and video tutorials are a large part of the accommodations that I can provide in this course.
Teacher Tutorials:
I offer personalized tutorials when self teaching has fallen short. Students need only ask. I am also available before and after school, although this is rarely needed as there is lots of time built in to the course for individualized instruction.
Other:
If there are other ways I may assist. Please let me know.
